bailey and champ 15pc Stories about two owners and their dogs starting training last week

Bailey, a Pug, with Champ, a Chihuahua

Baileys story.

Bailey is10 months old and lives with a family of parents and two boys 10 and 15 years old

Bailey doesn’t know anything obedience training. She is afraid of traffic, particularly cars, people and has never played with other dogs. Not to mention she is very bad on a leash and has been running from front door a few times – an important reason her family want her to learn at least the “stay” command.

Obedience training will help to build her confidence.

On a dog’s first day I never push much – especially if a dog is not very well socialized.

They need to adjust to new situation and learn how to communicate.

Today it was her third visit and we already have progress. Now Bailey is very patient obeying the “sit –stay” command near a door way. She has also already learnt “down stay” – even with lots of distractions around.

Today we practiced how to walk her on the loose leash with family members.

Bailey – happily starting to move around

Champ’s Story

Two weeks ago two ladies – a mother and daughter came to talk about the dog they brought with them. The poor frightened little dog was shaking and hiding behind their legs – but as soon as he saw another dog nearby he started growling and barking. The ladies told me the dog slept in the bed with another daughter and whenever they tried to move him from the bed he would bite them.

After talking with me they decide to sign up for training.

After three visits Champ has already learnt a lot. He is now good around other dogs and has even started playing them. He is more confident and not shaking any more. Today we practiced walking on loose with all the family. I showed them how to control situations when another dog is around – “ignore”, “sit”, “down-stay”, “stay-wait”, and  “look” commands and eyes contact with his owner.
